Escape to Les Granges and La Petite Cottage. A French farmhouse with barns, beautiful swimming pool, and a traditional stone cottage in the beautiful French countryside yet close to all amenities in the town of Ruffec. Enjoy our home comforts whilst you rest and unwind! !

Your hosts, Suzi and Jon, who speak English, French and Dutch, offer either Chambre                                                d'hôtes (Bed with optional breakfast and evening meal) or Gites to rent (self-catered                                                  whole house rental) which is available in La Petite Cottage.

Les Granges bedrooms all have double beds, our large family room has a double and a single bed. The family room is suitable for couples as well as families.  Breakfast and Dinner are served in our dinning room, in Winter warm yourself with our warming log fires whilst watching the sun go down.  During warmer weather you have the option to have meals on the terrace and watch the swallows flying around the courtyard. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy, including a seasonal heated swimming pool, several garden areas that are available all year, terraces for eating alfresco, our pool-side covered bar area and petanque pitch. In our rustic play barn there are garden games, table tennis, table football, a dartboard. For those who wish to continue with a fittness plan during their stay we offer use of our Rustic gym which includes an excercise bike, rowing machine, cross trainer, benches and free weights.

In La Petite Cottage there are 2 bedrooms and one bathroom, a cosy lounge with wood burning stove and television. The dining area and well equipped kitchen are ideal for family entertaining. There is a secluded courtyard with total privacy to enjoy breakfast or an evening aperitif. Guests at the cottage still have full use of all the facilities at Les Granges - Pool, Barns and Gardens!

 

Children are welcome at Les Granges or Petite Cottage. We can provide a baby cot and high chair so that all the family can eat together (and you can pack light!).

Animals are also welcome with a small additional charge but we request guests advise us in advance if they are bringing a pet. 

 

Kick back and enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful part of the countryside in France. The Charente River is only a few minutes’ walk away, and the charming town of Ruffec is less than a 5 minutes’ drive with restaurants, shops, and local produce markets held every Wednesday and Saturday morning.
